Who is Eligible ?
The Kingdom of Thailand welcomes every nationality however, some nationalities might need to submit a police clearance as a reference to get an approval letter from the Ministry of Education.
People aged 15 to 55 years old are eligible to obtain a student visa.
Thai E-Visa Online Application Processol
Nowadays, most of the Thai Embassies/consulates overseas allow an applicant to apply for the visa online through the Thai E-Visa website: https://thaievisa.go.th/ E-visa approval takes 1-4 weeks if the required documents are incomplete, you will receive an email requesting more documents.
ED Visa Approval and Arrival Instructions
Once you receive your ED visa approval document from the Thai Embassy via email, you don’t need to bring your passport to get the visa stamped. The visa will be stamped upon your arrival in Thailand and will be valid for an initial stay of 90 days. After that, all further processes will be handled within Thailand.
Please visit the school within 3 days of your arrival to present your original passport for the next step. Additionally, you must inform the owner of your residence to complete the TM.30 registration for you as soon as you arrive.
What is the process?
Once we receive your required documents, either in person at the school or online, we will submit them to the Ministry of Education (MOE). The MOE approval process typically takes around 3 to 4 weeks. After approval, we will prepare all necessary school documents and send you scanned copies to upload when applying for your ED Visa through the Thai E-Visa system via your local Thai Embassy or Consulate.
Provide us with these requirements;
- Please provide a scan of your passport (including the front page and all pages with Thai stamps), or you can make a copy at the school.
- Passport photos (16 passport-sized photos (1.5 inches) with white background and a polite shirt, no glasses or hat, clearly showing two ears and no big smile) If you choose to take the photo at school or send us a digital file for printing, a photo fee is 200 THB.
- The Middle East and certain other nationalities, a police clearance certificate is additionally required, either from your home country or from the Royal Thai Police (Scientific Crime Detection Division).
- You are required to submit bank statements from the past six months, provided in Thai or English only, as part of your application on the Thai E-Visa website.
ED Visa Validity and Renewal
- You will initially receive a 3-month ED visa stamp, which must be extended every 3 months at the Thai Immigration Office until you complete your 6-month or 12-month course.Each extension includes 1 month (under immigration consideration) followed by 2 additional months.
